Forget the Pixel Fold - there's a cheaper way to own Google's best Android phone

The Google Pixel Fold is on the way to the UK with the new device set to hit retailers at the end of August. Our friends in the US have managed to already get their hands on the new Android device first so we will have to wait a little longer.

But the good news is that Google's ultimate Android phone has just become much cheaper for those looking to swap their older device for something a lot fresher.

Our five-star review of the Google Pixel 7a praised it as one of the "mid-range masterpieces" of Android phones with a great price point and plenty of features to keep you preoccupied.

The “a” series is a line of mid-range phones that combine some of the features of their higher spec counterparts and share a similar design, they are known for providing a fantastic balance between price and performance, making them a popular choice for people who want a decent experience without spending a lot of money.

It comes with IP67 protection against dust and water, and the screen is scratch-resistant with Gorilla Glass. There's also the 6.1-inch OLED screen on the phone with an adaptive 90Hz refresh rate, providing smooth gaming and scrolling.

And you can currently get it cheaper than retail - thanks to a deal from Affordable Mobiles.

The deal gives you unlimited minutes and unlimited texts as well as a 5G ready SIM from telecoms provider Three. Three has launched 5G in a load of busy towns and cities up and down the UK so you'll never be without fast internet speeds or signal.

Three customers can also download the Three+ customer loyalty app and access exclusive discounts on the biggest brands like Uber Eats, Cineworld and more. Plus, music lovers can get pre-sale tickets to the UK's biggest festivals.

You can get the handset for just £14-a-month through Affordable Mobiles but there is a £149 upfront cost. To avoid that big upfront cost you can use the code AFMP7A for an £89 upfront cost instead.

That means you can get the device and the SIM plan for £425. Normally the Pixel 7a retails for £449 on its own - making it a cracking deal.
