'Forget Aarons and Koulibaly' - Spurs fans rave about Japhet Tanganga's man of the match display

Tottenham Hotspur have made it through to the fourth round of the FA Cup after recording a 2-1 victory over Championship side Middlesbrough in their third round replay on Tuesday evening.

First-half goals from Giovani Lo Celso and Erik Lamela were enough to see Spurs safely into the next round, although a late strike from George Saville made it a more uncomfortable last few minutes than Jose Mourinho would have liked.

Tottenham travel to Southampton in the next round, but concentration now goes back onto the Premier League, as Spurs visit in form Watford at the weekend.

Mourinho had a decision on his team selection to make for the replay with the aim of getting the balance between resting players in preparation for the Watford match and putting out a strong team against Middlesbrough.

Full-back Japhet Tanganga made his Premier League debut just last weekend, impressing in the 1-0 defeat against league leaders Liverpool.

The young defender was again given his chance to impress when he was names in the starting lineup for the replay against Middlesbrough.

He played the full 90 minutes of the match.

He was named as the man of the match, and his performance has caught the eye of on watching Spurs fans, who have taken to social media to laud the 20-year-old's performance.

Tanganga will look to add to his first team experience in the Premier League match against Watford on Saturday.
