Forfar v Hibs update as SPFL provide clarity on Betfred Cup clash amid COVID situation

Hibs' trip to face Forfar in the Betfred Cup next week is to go ahead as planned.

There were fears the match could be in doubt after a positive COVID-19 test at the Angus club in midweek. This forced them to call off their match against Dundee.

However, according to BBC Scotland, the SPFL are satisfied the Hibs fixture "should proceed as scheduled" next Tuesday evening.

The Forfar player who tested positive, and one close contact, are self-isolating while the rest of the squad are available having returned negative tests.

The SPFL are expected to monitor the situation over the coming days, and remain in regular contact with the League One club.

Hibs face Cove Rangers tomorrow (Saturday) prior to the trip to Forfar next week. We'll have all the coverage and reaction right here on Edinburgh Live.
