Forest Gate shooting: Three men 'gunned down at barbers' and rushed to hospital

Three men have been shot in a triple attack in east London, leaving one in a critical condition.

The men were found with gunshot injuries on Upton Lane in Forest Gate just before 7pm on Friday.

They were rushed to hospital where one is fighting for their life and the other two received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

The A114 Upton Lane in Forest Gate is closed in both directions and there is queuing traffic from Grosvenor Road to Whyteville Road.

A Section 60 stop and search order has been authorised across the borough of Newham until 3pm tomorrow (Saturday October 9).

No arrests have been made at this stage.

The London Ambulance Service has released an update on the shooting.

They said: "We were called at 6:58pm tonight (October 8) to Upton Lane, E7, to reports that a number of people were injured.

"We sent a number of resources to the scene: three ambulance crews, three medics from our joint response unit, a clinical team manager, an incident response officer and an advanced paramedic.

"We also dispatched teams from London's Air Ambulance.

"We treated three people at the scene and took all three to a major trauma centre."

Police are asking for witnesses to get in touch by calling 101 quoting CAD 6941/08Oct.

A Section 60 has been authorised for the borough of Newham.

It applies until 3pm on Saturday and gives officers increased stop and search powers to help prevent further violence.
