Forest fans taunt Derby over play-off final loss to Aston Villa with banner draped over A52 bridge

A banner has been draped over the A52 Brian Clough Way taunting Derby County fans after the club's play-off final defeat to Aston Villa.

Dean Smith's side came out on top at Wembley on Monday, May 27, in one of the richest games of football.

Goals in each half from Anwar El Ghazi and John McGinn were enough to secure top-flight football for the West Midlands club, in a game expected to net Villa a £170m windfall.

The banner has been placed over a bridge above the A52, which links Nottingham and Derby.

It reads 'Silence of the Lambs' in a reference to Derby's nickname, the Rams.

A picture of it was tweeted by Forest fan @lambydan, who wrote: "Another one! A52 #nffc."

It comes after stickers of the former QPR striker Bobby Zamora were placed on signs along the A52 in September 2014, ahead of the East Midlands derby between Forest and Derby that season at the City Ground.

This was on the back off Zamora's 90th-minute winner against the Rams in the play-off final in May 2014.
