Forest fans on march as Bristol City prepare for bumper play-off battle crowd

Nottingham Forest are set to face Bristol City in front of Ashton Gate’s biggest crowd of the season on Saturday.

Sabri Lamouchi’s Reds take on the Robins knowing a win will see them maintain their fine away form and in the process, put daylight between themselves and their hosts in the Championship table.

Both clubs come into the game on the back of local derby victories, and are locked together on 28 points in the table, with Forest sitting fifth and City sixth with just goal difference separating the pair.

More than 23,000 tickets have been sold by the hosts, while the traveling Reds sold-out of their 2,320 allocation early last week.

City’s biggest Ashton Gate crowd so far this term came on the opening day when 23,553 watched Lee Johnson’s men beaten 3-1 by Leeds United.

Reds boss Lamouchi is fully aware of the task facing his players, against one of Forest’s play-off rivals, in front of a partisan crowd.

“We know that it’ll be tough. I remember their first game of the season, it was against Leeds. A bad start for them, like us at home,” he said.

“But they haven’t lost another game at home, not much different to us. We know we will face a good team with good players.

“The way the manager wants to play is good, and they have picked up good results at home.”
