Forensics tent at scene of 'unexplained' death as cops lock down street in Bishopbriggs

A forensics tent has been spotted at the scene where a man's body was found in Bishopbriggs this morning.

Police Scotland officers have locked down a street near Auchinairn Road at the junction of Woodhill Road in Bishopbriggs after the tragic discovery at around 12.20am.

Officers have been seen scouring the area this morning as they continue investigations into the unexplained death.

Pictures show police guarding the road, with tape in place around a forensic tent which has been erected on the pavement.

Several police vehicles are also stationed in the area, with a team of CID officers continuing to carry out enquiries in the local area.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 12.20am this morning but tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.20am on Monday, June 13, police received a report of an unresponsive male on a footpath near Auchinairn Road (junction of Woodhill Road) Bishopbriggs.

"Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

"Officers remain at the scene whilst enquiries are ongoing.

"The road is currently closed.”
