Forensics lock down Scots address after 'suspicious package' found in Cambuslang

Forensic cops have been seen working at an address in Glasgow in relation to a 'suspicious package' found in Cambuslang.

Police Scotland officers joined the forensics team at the property in Marfield Street, Carntyne, on Wednesday November 16 with part of the area was cordoned off whilst they carried out their investigations, reports Glasgow Live. The latest incident is believed to be linked to a package found on Mansion Court in Cambuslang on Tuesday night.

An EOD team located the item and removed it from the scene before it was examined by the unit. A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.20pm on Tuesday, 15 November, officers were called to Mansion Court, Cambuslang, where a suspicious package was discovered.

“EOD attended and made the item safe before removing it for examination.

“A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday, 17 November.”
