Forensics comb 'hammer' death scene in Perth as flat sealed off

Forensic officers are combing a flat after the 'unexplained' death of a man in Perth amid claims a hammer was used.

The body of an unidentified male was found inside a property in Scott Street on Monday evening.

Shocked locals claimed a hammer had been involved in the death.

Photographs taken from near the scene on Wednesday show several forensics officers outside the property.

They are joined by two police officers who patrolled the doorway as they headed inside.

One white van is parked directly outside the main entrance to the block of flats.

Police provided a statement on Tuesday where they said the death was being treated as unexplained (Handout)

Another police van can be seen parked further along the residential street.

The block of flats sits at the end of Scott Street but the road runs through the town centre and is lined with numerous independent shops, businesses and some food joints.

Police were spotted by one eyewitness at the scene at around 10.40pm on Monday.
