Forensics reportedly remained at a house "for two days" after a man was found injured.
Officers were called to the house in Lincoln Drive in Wallasey at around 4.45pm on Wednesday following reports a man was assaulted and suffered laceration wounds to his head and hands.
Eyewitnesses of the scene claimed forensic officers were there for "two days and nights".

The injured man, who is in his 40s, was taken to hospital but has been since discharged.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said a man has now been charged with an offence following the incident.
Neil Davies, 38, of Waverton Avenue, Oxton, has been charged with section 18 wounding with intent.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Wirral adult remand court today, Friday, January 28.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We have charged a man with s18 wounding with intent following an incident at house in Wallasey.
"Officers were called to the house in Lincoln Drive at 4.45pm on Wednesday, January 26 following reports a male had been assaulted and suffered laceration wounds to his head and hands.
"The man, in his 40s, was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
"Neil Davies, 38, of Waverton Avenue, Oxton, has been charged with s18 wounding with intent.
"He was remanded in custody to appear at Wirral adult remand court today, Friday, January 28."
