Forensics and heavy police seen in residential Bilborough street

Forensic police officers were seen on a Bilborough street on Tuesday evening (March 30) as members of the public reported spotting a heavy police presence.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police's control room confirmed to Nottinghamshire Live that officers arrived in Glaisdale Drive West, Bilborough, between 5.30pm and 6pm.

However, the spokesperson could not provide any further details about why police were at the scene.

They confirmed officers were "still on scene" at about 8pm, however, no officers could be seen when Nottinghamshire Live arrived at about 9pm.

People in the area reported seeing "a load of police and forensics" in the area at around 7.30pm.

Maggie Redfern, 53, of Cockington Road, Bilborough, said her son saw police in the area earlier on.

“My son did, at half-past 7 - he said there was police there," she told Nottinghamshire Live.

"He saw a load of coppers and loads of forensics - a load of police and forensics were there."

The location was near Tremayne Road, she said.

Nottinghamshire Police have been contacted for further information on why they were called to Glaisdale Drive West.
