Forensics and ambulance called to 'incident' at apartment block

Forensics officers and the ambulance service were called to an 'incident' at an apartment block on Thursday evening.

Merseyside Police rushed to Vittoria Court, just off Beckwith Street in Birkenhead on Thursday, May 12, following reports of an incident. The North West Ambulance Service were also in attendance at the scene.

Eyewitnesses living in the area said they heard sirens and saw several emergency service vehicles at the flats at around 8.30pm. An ambulance left Vittoria Court at around 10pm.

It is believed the incident took place around the front entrance of a block of flats in Vittoria Court and people living inside the building were told by police they are not allowed to leave their homes.

Merseyside Police were approached for further details on the incident.
