Forensic tent in place as investigation into unexplained death continues

Police remain at a house in Anfield after a man's body was found.

A forensic tent is in place outside a property on Priory Road, after a man was found dead on Wednesday, July 13. Officers confirmed they were called to reports of a body being found in the house, at around 10am.

Emergency services, including paramedics, attended the scene but the man was pronounced dead in the home. His death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Merseyside police today confirmed to the ECHO that the death remains under investigation. A post mortem is due to take place later today. They also revealed the man's next of kin have not yet been traced.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We can confirm that officers are currently on Priory Road in Anfield following a report a man’s body had been found at a property on the road. Emergency services attended following the reports at around 10am on Wednesday July 13.

"A man was sadly pronounced deceased at the property. The man’s death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to identify the man and notify his next of kin.

"An investigation is underway and CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out in the local area. A scene is currently in place on Priory Road whilst officers remain in the area."
