Forensic officers examine car with shattered back window after gunman opened fire in Salford

These images show the damage to a car after a gunman opened fire on a Salford street.

Photographs from the scene on Quay View show forensic teams examining a black Ford Galaxy.

Its back window had shattered.

Officers were seen scouring the street for clues following the incident on Tuesday night, in which the front door of a house was doused with an accelerant before being set alight.

Forensic teams were seen looking in and around the car.

GMP said there were reports of a gunman opening fire on a car at around 1.25am.
