Forensic officers comb through Glasgow flat after man found dead inside property

Forensic officers have been searching a flat in Glasgow’s east end where the body of a man was found inside the property.

A large police presence and officers in special protective suits have been spotted probing the area on Burgher Street in the Parkhead area of the city.

Officers can be seen removing evidence bags and forensic officers are combing the outside areas.

We previously told how the alarm was raised at around 10.55pm on Sunday.

Police say the death is currently being treated as unexplained and investigations are continuing.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was found to have passed away however investigations remain ongoing to determine how he died.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.55 pm on Sunday, 7 March, 2021, police were called to a flat in Burgher Street, Parkhead, Glasgow, where the body of a man was found within.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact cause of his death which, at this time, officers are treating as unexplained. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
