Forensic teams have arrived at a murder scene this morning after a double stabbing yesterday.
A man, 39, died after being found in the street with 'significant injuries.' Police gave him CPR at the scene on Rock Grove, Old Swan, at around 8.55pm, on Monday, March 14, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A short time later, emergency services found a woman inside a nearby property who had also been stabbed. She was rushed to hospital for treatment for her injuries by the North West Ambulance Service.

Police confirmed that a post-mortem will now take place to establish the man's cause of death. The force have launched a murder investigation and CCTV and house-to-house inquiries are being conducted in the area.
The area remains closed off while detectives carry out their investigation. Forensic officers have arrived at the scene and have been seen taking pictures inside a cordon, on the residential street.
People in the area shortly after the man's body was found said they could hear screaming. Shortly after an ambulance was seen leaving the area escorted by police.

Commenting after the incident, Chief Inspector Jim Wilde said: "This was a tragic incident in which a man has sadly lost his life. An investigation is now underway, which is in the very early stages as we seek to establish what has happened.
"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Rock Grove this evening between 8.30pm and 9pm to please get in touch. You may have seen or heard something suspicious which has led to this tragic incident. It is vital that people with information, no matter how small, to please contact us as it might be vital to the investigation."
