Crime scene investigation officers descended on a property in north Manchester this morning.
There was a big police presence on Moston Lane in Moston for several hours after officers first arrived around 5am.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said they executed a warrant at a property on the road however so far no further details have been released.
No arrests have been made they added.
Eyewitnesses said both tactical aid unit (TAU) and forensic police teams were among those who spent several hours at the scene this morning.
It is unclear if it was a residential or commercial property.
However uniformed officers were guarding a door on the stretch near the junction with Cole Street.
The forensic officers, dressed in white body suits, could then be seen going in and out.
One officer could be seen bringing out a filled clear evidence bag.
In a short statement GMP said: "Police executed a warrant at a property on Moston Lane, Manchester at around 5am this morning.
"No arrests have been made."
