Forensic teams are searching a house in Edinburgh in relation to an alleged suspicious package being found at an Edinburgh sorting office.
Pictures from the scene show officers in white suits at the house in Broomhall Crescent after the package was discovered at the Royal Mail’s Sighthill depot.
Spike Woodbridge, 41, was arrested and charged in relation to the allegation.
He appeared in private at the capital's sheriff court from custody today where he faced a single charge of breach of the peace.
Woodbridge, from Edinburgh, made no plea and the case was continued for further examination
He was granted bail and no date has been set down for his return.
The court appearance comes just three days after bomb experts rushed to the postal depot at Sighthill in Edinburgh.
The building was partially evacuated following the incident at 10.30am on November 14 but was fully reopened around six hours later.
Chief Inspector Scott Richardson, of Police Scotland, said: "Police Scotland can confirm that a 41-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a suspicious package which was found at a sorting office in Cutlins Road on Saturday, 14 November.
"He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 17 November.
"A police presence remains at a property on Broomhouse Road, where the man was arrested on Monday, 16 November. There is no wider risk to the public."
