Two foreigners discharged a fire extinguisher, instead of just splashing water, during Songkran celebrations in the middle of Walking Street, Pattaya, in the early hours of Sunday.

It happened about 5am and a video posted on a popular local Facebook group quickly went viral.

“Terrible behaviour. I don’t know where they got the fire extinguisher, but they sprayed it around and caused trouble everywhere,” the post read.

Reporters who went to the scene saw several parked motorcycles coated in residue from the extinguisher, with visible damage to seats and bodywork.

Witnesses said passers-by expressed anger and openly criticised the two men.

Security guards calmed the crowd and warned the men that their behaviour was inappropriate, and the pair abandoned the extinguisher and fled the scene before the police arrived.

It was not known where they got the extinguisher from, or how.

Police were looking for the two men.
