Visitors to France are being warned of potential violence due to protests linked to the 'yellow vest' movement.
The Foreign Office say that protests generally take place across the country on Saturdays with some previous demonstrations leading to violence.
The updated advice is part of many tips issued to holidaymakers planning trips to the area.
The post, on the foreign travel advice section of the website says: "Some protests linked to the yellow vest (gilets jaunes) movement continue across France, generally taking place on Saturdays.
"While now smaller in scale, previous demonstrations have led to violence. If demonstrations do turn violent, a heavy police/gendarmerie presence is to be expected."
They also add that motorists travelling through the country may experience 'delays or blockages' caused by local demonstrators.
The advice is to drive with caution as well as avoid "demonstrations wherever possible and follow the advice of the local authorities."
Although now on a 'smaller scale, previous yellow vest movement for economic justice demonstrations have led to extensive damage in Paris and other cities.
