Foreign Office gives important update for Brits visiting Spain

A list of 73 countries and territories where English tourists can visit without self-isolating on their return has been published by the Department for Transport (DfT).

It features popular short-haul destinations such as France, Italy, Turkey, Greece and Cyprus, as well as long-haul locations including Australia, Barbados, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand and Vietnam.

And one of Britain's favourite destination - Spain - is also on the list.

From July 4, Spain is exempt from the FCO advice against all non-essential international travel.

This is based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks.

The Foreign Office also issued new entry requirements for Brits travelling to Spain.

On arrival, travellers entering Spain from the UK will not be required to self-isolate. However, they will be subject to the following three requirements:

  • Provide the Spanish Ministry of Health with mandatory contact information and any history of exposure to COVID-19 by following the instructions on the Spain Travel Health website or downloadable app 48 hours prior to travel.
  • Temperature check
  • Undergo a visual health assessment

For further information on the above requirements, see the Spain Travel Health website prior to travel.
