Forecast for snow and ice as parts of Stirling brace for 12-hour weather warning

Parts of Stirling are bracing for 12-hours of wintry conditions tomorrow (Tuesday) as forecasters have predicted snow and ice.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning which will be in place from 1am until 1pm on Tuesday.

Icy patches and wintry showers may lead to some travel disruption.

Icy patches are likely to develop on Monday night and into Tuesday morning as blustery showers fall on cold surfaces, especially untreated roads and pavements.

In addition, above 200 metres elevation, showers will fall as snow at times and above 400 metres there will be occasional heavy snow showers, bringing 2-6cm, as well as temporary blizzard conditions.

The warning covers Central Scotland - including parts of Stirling, Perth and Kinross and Angus - as well as Grampian, Strathclyde and the Highlands.
