Ford Mustang goes up in flames on A48 in Carmarthenshire

A Ford Mustang went up in flames on the A48 in Carmarthenshire on Sunday.

The bright orange car caught fire on the A48 westbound between Pont Abraham and Cross Hands at 9.30am.

No injuries were reported and the road was later re-opened.

A spokesman for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "Fire services were called to the fire between Pont Abraham and Carmarthen at 9.30am this morning.

"Two fire engines were sent to the scene and the fire was put out at 10.25am.

"The road has now reopened and no injuries have been reported."

Dyfed-Powys Police's roads policing unit in Carmarthenshire took to Twitter to warn other motorists of the incident.

They wrote: "A48 westbound (Pont Abs - Cross Hands) re-opened following a vehicle fire.

"Thanks to the quick response by Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service. Apologies for any delay."

Dyfed-Powys Police was unable to give any other details about the incident.
