A former Hungarian child refugee who came to Britain nearly 50 years ago feels she has to leave the UK to escape the hatred caused by Brexit.
Magda Williams first came to the UK aged 13, escaping Communist Hungary, before returning to live here permanently nine years later with her mother.
The 70-year-old from Sevenoaks, Kent now feels unwelcome in her adopted country.
She told Kent Live that Britain "does not feel like [her] home any longer."
Magda said: “My view is to leave Europe will be a disaster for the UK which has been part of Europe since I first came to the UK."
The former diplomat, who previously worked for the Foreign Office in London and Strasbourg, is now considering moving to Austria as she looks to escape the growing xenophobia she feels here.
"I fled to Austria from the communists in Hungary when my mother was at university in Vienna and I am moving back to Austria which is where I came from.”
She joined an estimated million other people who marched against Brexit in London last Saturday, March 23rd.
However Magda has not stopped there, she's now set up camp outside the House of Commons to try to effect change.
“Now I am outside Parliament five days a week - come rain or shining protesting and speaking to MPs - because I think this is such a disaster."
