Forbidden Fruit festival 2019: Line up, tickets, travel, after parties and everything you need to know

Forbidden Fruit is back for its ninth year and it’s hitting Kilmainham this weekend.

The festival is back for another year and we have all the details you need before you head off.

It will take place for the June bank holiday weekend, the 1st to the 3rd, on the grounds of the Irish Museum of Modern Art at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.

The festival is full of big names and huge talents with headliners on Saturday like Skepta, Jon Hopkins, Danny Brown, Earl Sweatshirt, Mall Grab and Kojaque.

Sunday’s line up doesn’t disappoint either with acts like Mura Masa, Paul Kalkbrenner, Laurent Garnier, Peggy Gou and Maribou State taking the stage.

On Monday Elbow, Fontaines D.C., Spiritualized and RY X close the three day festival.

The festival has a wide range of international acts over the three days along with comedy, art, food and drinks at almost every turn.

And it doesn’t end here - festival goers can continue the fun at the after parties set up across the city until 3am.

Tickets

Day tickets are available here from €69.50.

A two day weekend ticket, the Saturday and Sunday only, are available here from €129.

The three day weekend ticket is available here from €169, with limited tickets left for both weekend tickets.

After parties

After parties are happening in a number of spots across Dublin leaving you with plenty of choice.

On Saturday you can head to either Button Factory, Wigwam, Tengu, The Grand Social, 39/40, Opium, Pygmalion, Sugar Club or Wah Wah at the end of the night.

On Sunday Button Factory, Wigwam, Tengu, The Grand Social, Wah Wah and Pygmalion have signed up to keep the party going.

Travel

Gates open at 2pm and 3.30 on Monday giving you loads of time in the morning to get there.

If you’re walking, you head in at East Gate, Military Road and West Gate, James St.

You can’t park at the venue and road restrictions will be in place at Military Road and Kilmainham Lane.

The nearest public car park is Park Rite Parking Lot at 7 Queen Street, Dublin 7.

The grounds are a five minute walk from Heuston station which you can get to by the LUAS red line from Connolly station.

Buses will be available for free at 9pm from the main gate at Military Road to the after parties.

Disability access is provided and those availing of it are to enter via Military Road or Bow lane and will be directed from there.

Do’s and Dont’s

As it is an outdoor event, is it advised to dress appropriately and keep an eye on the weather.

Large umbrellas are not allowed but pocket sized ones are fine.

ID will be required and if you look under 25 you’re guaranteed to be asked for it.

Be reminded that the area is a residential one and to be respectful of that.

Large bags aren’t allowed into the festival and all bags are subject to security checks on the way in.

Bags must be A4 in size and anyone without a bag will be fast tracked into the grounds.

Liquids, illegal drugs, fireworks, drones professional cameras and animals are not permitted at the festival.

Smoking is allowed but is not to be done in enclosed spaces.

You cannot re-enter with day tickets or tamper with the wristbands.
