Forbes: MSU football revenue $87 million per year from 2015-17

We know college football is big business, but sometimes the numbers are staggering.

Michigan State football, according to Forbes, netted $87 million per year in revenue from 2015-17. The program’s three-year average profit in those same years was $44 million. That makes Michigan State the 22nd-most valuable program in the country.

Texas A&M and Texas lead the way with $94 million and $92 million profits respectively. Michigan, Alabama and Ohio State round out the top five.

Michigan State is the 6th-most valuable Big Ten team, behind Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State (13th), Nebraska (20th) and Iowa (21st). Wisconsin is the 23rd-most valuable program in the country.
