A heading on a letter last week “The prime minister’s stance on tax is in fact totally moral” Comment, page 40) was at odds with the substance of the letter, which criticised the way that columnist Will Hutton had argued that David Cameron’s tax credo was immoral (Comment, 2 November). The letter writers, Dr William Dixon and Dr David Wilson of London Metropolitan University, make no claims of their own about the morality or otherwise of the prime minister’s approach to taxation.
The 2006 murders of five women sex workers took place in Ipswich and not, as we said, in Norwich. Steve Wright was sentenced to life imprisonment for their murders in 2008. (“Make prostitution legal? No, it will still be a vile trade”, Comment, last week, page 39).
Our piece on Berlin and its digital exiles (“The safe haven of hacktivism”, New Review, last week, page 8) mistakenly described Markus Hesselmann as website editor of Taz [Die Tageszeitung]. He actually edits Der Tagesspiegel’s website.
Our Killer Sodoku supplier inadvertently repeated a puzzle we had published on 19 January in our issue of 26 October. Apologies.
