In our article headlined “Boots chief quits after NHS cash furore” (Business, 15 June, page 37), we gave the impression that Mr Simon Roberts, president of Boots UK, had been fired in June this year. Mr Roberts asked us to make clear that it was his decision to step down as president of Boots UK in the first quarter of this year. We apologise for any suggestion to the contrary.
While David Lloyd Jones of Studio E, the firm that built Grange Park Opera’s former Hampshire home, is project manager for GPO’s new theatre at West Horsley, Surrey, the design is by Tim Ronalds Architects (“Hopping to Haydn”, New Review, 17 July, page 31).
We mistakenly illustrated a gardening piece on the proper care of broad bean plants with a large picture of French bean plants last week (“Here’s a tip off”, Observer Magazine, page 46). The agency picture was supplied with an incorrect caption.
Last week, we said the Australian Olympic swimmer Cameron McEvoy is nicknamed “The Professor”. That’s because he is a theoretical physicist, not, as we rather alarmingly described him, a “theoretical physician” (Rio 2016 Olympics special, page 5).
