Our piece on Islington (“London borough of Labour”, New Review, last week, page 14) was wrong to say that leisure facilities for the local community, promised in Arsenal Football Club’s Emirates Stadium planning application, had not materialised. The Arsenal Hub, a sports centre that offers 50 hours of community access a week, opened in February.
With the slip of a finger we reduced the world’s population to 7m last week. It is, of course, 7bn. (“I saw the good work Kids Company did. That’s why I mourn its passing”, In Focus, last week, page 26).
A panel accompanying “Forget Silicon Valley, it’s Bournemouth’s turn… how Dorset resort found its mojo” (News, last week, page 16) said incorrectly that Bournemouth “has the second-largest natural harbour in the world”, referring to Poole harbour. Poole is a separate and far older town, with its own borough council.
We should have credited Roger Vail’s long-exposure photographs of fairground attractions to the Joseph Bellows Gallery, La Jolla, California (Snapshots, New Review, 19 July, page 7).
