For the record

A piece about the Paris climate conference (“The road to Paris”, News, page 9, last week) said that developing countries wanted to “mitigate against the worst effects of global warming”. That should have been militate.

In “Our future is urban. Why don’t we talk more about our cities?” (In Focus, page 28, last week), we wrongly accompanied a piece about former Berlin mayor Klaus Wowereit with a picture of his successor, Michael Muller.

In “The wrong ways and right ways to pick Labour’s new leader” (Comment, page 37, last week), we said that Andy Burnham was health secretary during the Mid-Staffs hospital scandal. He was health secretary in its aftermath.

In a piece about gas holders (“Gasworks wonders...”, New Review, page 16, last week), we wrongly said that Alistair Sim portrayed Professor Marcus in The Ladykillers. It was, of course, Alec Guinness who starred in the 1955 movie.

Jean-Claude Juncker and Alexis Tsipras were depicted at the wheels of right-hand-drive cars in David Simonds’s cartoon (Business, page 44, last week), which suggests that David Cameron might already have won some concessions from Europe.
