For the record

The Department of Health has asked us to make clear that, contrary to “Hunt’s U-turn on social care ‘cost taxpayer £100m’” (News, last week, page 1), it commissioned the advertising agency M&C Saatchi (not Saatchi and Saatchi) to help explain to the public the reforms of the Care Act 2015, not the subsequent cap on care costs. Furthermore, information on the reforms, including expanded rights to carers, a new national eligibility threshold and deferred payment agreements, have not had to be amended to reflect the decision to delay the cap until 2020.

A large photograph of the picturesque Nyhavn district of Copenhagen was miscaptioned as showing a scene in Norway’s Lofoten Islands in early editions last week. Apologies. (“Nordic noir: how the far right came in from the cold”, In Focus, last week, pages 22-23).

Embattled Folkestone has enough to cope with today without being saddled with city status by the Observer: (“Rachel Craig, 22, from Folkestone, said the city centre was quieter than usual” – “Kent trapped in gridlock as migrant crisis triggers traffic chaos and holiday disruption”, last week, page 7).
