Our apologies to the Ross family of Dunblane. We said a photograph that accompanied a review of BBC2’s Dunblane: Our Story showed Joanna Ross holding a picture of her younger sister Alison, who died in Britain’s deadliest firearms atrocity, 20 years ago. It was Joanna who died: Alison is holding the picture (“Horror of a small Scottish town revisited”, New Review, page 28).
An editing error in a news story concerning a call for valuable paintings to be returned to a school suggested that ARK Elvin Academy, formerly Copland community school in Wembley, had planning approval for a new art building. The author actually wrote that the approval had been granted for a “state of the art new building” and that it was not clear if an art department was planned within it (“Return £40,000 paintings taken from school, says ex-teacher”, News, last week, page 18).
Naming names: China’s president is Xi Jinping, not Xi Jingpin (Photo caption: “How one brave woman is taking on growing might of China’s censors”, In Focus, last week, page 30) and the author of our profile of Angela Merkel was Hans Kundnani, not Hans Kundani (“Angela Merkel: Enigmatic leader of a divided land”, last week, page 32).
