For Steph and Seth Curry, NBA All-Star Weekend in Charlotte is a dream come true

Now that Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry is a bona fide NBA superstar and A-list celebrity, he can open up about long-held dreams that perhaps, in the lowest moments, seemed out of reach. But he, and brother Seth, are living dreams realized in probably what feels like a surreal, full-circle experience.

Ten years removed from his days of playing at Davidson College, Curry reflected fondly on his deep Charlotte roots following a game at Belk Arena, where he once played.

“Charlotte means everything to me,” Curry said. “This is where I learned to play the game. So many people in the city got to watch me grow up in the game.”

But it goes deeper than that. Curry’s father, Dell, played 10 years of his NBA career in Charlotte. He and his brother wanted to follow in their father’s footsteps, but with an All-Star Weekend in their hometown being a special dream held between the two of them:

To be honest, me and my brother always dreamed of being part of All-Star Weekend, doing three-point shootouts or playing in the game … To have it come full circle, to be here playing where my dad played … this is a weekend we’ll remember for a long, long time.

Is he pinching himself, yet?
