'For rare book collectors and Harry Potter fans, this is the ultimate prize'

Millions of Harry Potter fans across the world are not content with just reading the books and watching the films.

Many have become collectors and hoarders of all things wizard-related, boasting first editions of novels, Potter-styled wands and lots more.

But now, the 'ultimate prize' has come on the market but unsurprisingly it has a massive price tag.

Just Collecting, an online auctioning site, is selling a ting Hogwarts book handwritten by Yate author JK Rowling during the height of Potter mania in 2004.

This is a one-of-a-kind miniature handwritten manuscript from Harry Potter author JK Rowling (Just Collecting,)

During the 31-paged book,  items a Hogwarts student will need for their first year at the school are listed.

Text includes:

“Students may also bring an Owl OR a Cat OR a Toad”

“Parents are reminded that first-years are not allowed their own broomsticks”

The final page bears the inscription: "From Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, by me."

And there's also Rowling’s sketches of a wand, cauldron and a witch’s hat.

You have until March 26 to save the funds for the mammoth sale.

JustCollecting’s Dan Wade said: "For rare book collectors and Harry Potter fans, this is the ultimate prize.

"Sure, you could own one of the 500 first edition hardbacks of Philosopher’s Stone, you could even hunt down one of the seven handwritten copies of Rowling’s The Tales of Beedle the Bard – but there is only one copy of this book.

"It’s an absolute delight to read through and gives such an insight into the warmth and love Rowling has for the Potter world.

"I’m expecting to see strong interest from fans who grew up with the Potter books in the late 90s and early noughties. They’re now in their 30s, possibly getting nostalgic for their youth, and earning money.

"Ultimately though, I can see this going to a rare book collector or dealer – where it will form the centrepiece of their collection."
