'For now' - Cenk Tosun makes Besiktas transfer admission and outlines Everton plans

Cenk Tosun has revealed he has no plans to leave Everton this month despite continued speculation linking him with a return to Besiktas

The Turkish striker has worked his way back from a long-term injury and has been back on the bench for the Blues in recent weeks.

Tosun came on as a substitute against Liverpool last month before being an unused substitute against Arsenal just days later.

However, the Turkish international was not in the Blues’ matchday squads for the games against Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Brighton.

Tosun signed for Everton for £27m from Besiktas during the 2018 January transfer window, and has been linked with a return to his former club.

However, it seems Tosun has no intention of leaving Everton this month, and is keen to see out of his Blues contract, which expires at the end of the season.

“I have no intention of returning at the moment,” the forward told Turkish publication Fanatik when asked for an update on his future.

“My contract ends at the end of the season. Besiktas is my home anyway. But for now, I have no intention or position to return.

“However, I want to finish this season here and go somewhere at the end of the season.”

Tosun was briefly loaned to Crystal Palace in 2020 but played just 5 times for the club after his deal was cut short due to a knee injury.

The Turkey international made a name for himself at Besiktas scoring 67 goals in 146 appearances between 2014 and 2018.

While Tosun has scored just 11 times in 59 games for the Blues since arriving at Goodison Park four-years ago.
