The story of a beautiful rice field cultivated in a circular pattern will be brought to the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) next week to show how happiness can be found in a simple way.

The "Khon Rak Na Ma/Ha/Nakorn (Lovers Of Rice Farming Come Calling)" art exhibition is presented by celebrated Thai artist Wijit Apichartkriangkrai and a group of his friends called the Aesthetic Eco Rice Barn Group.

Having devoted himself to public arts for nearly two decades and recently earning his PhD in visual arts from Silpakorn University, Wijit found inspiration from his research, wherein he discovered an interesting aspect of art that can produce a tangible aesthetic. With his knowledge, experience and understanding of art, he and his friends reveal through film footage the circular rice field -- a beautiful and practical landscaping art form of a rice-farming community in Nakhon Chaisi of Nakhon Pathom.

The exhibition is aimed to share with viewers the charm of calm, relaxing and simple living with the Thai folk culture of rice, folk art, and the harmonious relations between people and the environment -- all of which are described by Wijit as a prelude to the phenomenon of an ecological aesthetic.

Visitors are invited to come and experience art with a difference. They will become part of the process where boundless beauty and dynamism will replenish their whole beings through all the six senses, and it is something that they can manifest on their own.

This is also an opportunity to sample local food and desserts from the community, join a craft workshop and participate in a creative aesthetic dialogue with invited guests from various backgrounds, who will take turns to resonate the beauty of natural ecology every day.

The "Khon Rak Na Ma/Ha/Nakorn (Lovers Of Rice Farming Come Calling)" exhibition will be held on the first floor of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Pathumwan intersection, during March 26 until April 7, 11am-8pm.
