For $100, newly freed former Gov. Rod Blagojevich will send you “a birthday greeting, anniversary greeting, motivation or any other kind of shout out.”
Blagojevich has joined the ranks of Cameo, a web service where notable people will record personalized video greetings for strangers — for a price.
The former governor appears to be in demand, too.
Though he was initially charging $40 per recording, the price was raised to $55 within an hour of Blagojevich’s wife, Patti, announcing his availability on Thursday. By 3:45 p.m., the price was at $100.
It’s far from the first time he’s been on camera since he was released from prison earlier this month, but Blagojevich’s presence on Cameo is his first public effort to make money since his 14-year sentence was commuted.
But if Cameo users aren’t interested in a birthday greeting from the disgraced former governor, Olympic gold medalist McKayla Maroney, White Sox legend Paul Konerko and former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci will send their regards for the same price.
