For 13 years a newspaper guide has been saying this is in Cardiff Bay but it's not

Stroll through Cardiff Bay and there are a lot of familiar sight.

Roald Dahl Plass, Mermaid Quay, the Senedd, the Millennium Centre all lit up as well as the barrage.

What you probably haven't noticed is the four, 30-feet tall, naked men sitting on stools looking out to sea. It may come as a shock to regular visitors to the Bay that they are there. Surely you wouldn't miss something like that?

But according to a Daily Mail destination guide they are there as part of Cardiff's "modern art" scene. This information comes from a destination guide published on the Daily Mail's website in 2008.

In a wide ranging article the guide suggests a range of things to do in Cardiff including watching "traditional dancing" at Cardiff Festival. It also suggests (though it is bizarre that any would need telling this) to "steer away from racial-stereotyping jokes to avoid offending the locals".

However at the top of the article there is an image of four large white statues sitting on stools.

Now any actual visitor to Cardiff would need amazing eye sight to actually spot these figures from Cardiff Bay as they are actually located next to Sædding Beach on the southwest coast of Denmark.

Known as Men at Sea they are a 9-metre tall white monument located opposite the Fisheries and Maritime Museum and is one of the area's major tourist attractions, and is a landmark of Esbjerg.

Why the writer of the travel guide thought that these large Danish dudes were located near the Dr Who museum is a mystery.
