Footprint mats made in Japan encourage people to maintain social distance

Signboard and anti-slip mat maker in Itabashi Ward, Tokyo, is busy manufacturing mats with footprints printed on them. These mats will remind users to maintain social distance by instructing them where to stand in line to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.

The mats were originally designed to be used at polling locations for an election.

The vinyl-chloride mats are 21 centimeters long and 29 centimeters wide and are being sold for 7,500 yen (excluding tax) for a set of five mats.
