Footie boss searching for Good Samaritan after horror motorway crash

Forfar boss Jim Weir is searching for a Good Samaritan after his horror motorway crash.

The Loons boss was rushed to hospital with first team coach Barry Sellars following the head-on smash on the M9 on Monday.

Weir, 50, who played for Hearts and Hamilton, said it was a “minor miracle” they escaped serious injury.

He now wants to track down the mystery hero who came to their rescue who he only knows as “Martin from Crieff”.

He thinks the man was in his 50s and asked anyone who may know him to get in touch on Facebook so he can thank him personally.

Weir said: “He was first on the scene but I never got his surname.

“He helped us both out of the car and put us into his car until the ambulance arrived.

“He phoned my partner and his partner to say he would be late home.”

Weir and Sellars were rushed to the Forth Valley Hospital in Larbert, Falkirk.

They were released later the same evening and are hopeful of making Forfar's game against Montrose at Station Park on Saturday, however they will take medical advice before a decision is made.

The driver of the other vehicle also escaped serious injury.
