Footballers caught fighting ahead of crunch match given the boot by club

Two raging team-mates who punched and kicked each other before a crunch football match have been given the boot by their side.

Caledonian Braves players Mickael Cuitty Gueu and Morgan Oulagnon were seen arguing before their game with Threave Rovers at Meadow Park in Castle Douglas, Dumfriesshire, on Saturday.

Both footballers calmly walked out of sight of officials before becoming embroiled in a heated argument and then coming to blows.

Caledonian Braves founder Chris Ewing said the players had been kicked out after the shameful incident.

He said: “We are extremely disappointed with the incident on Saturday.

The two players were seen arguing before things turned physical ahead of kick-off (Dumfries and Galloway Standard)

“This type of behaviour is totally unacceptable and goes against the spirit and values of our club.

“The players involved have since been released from the club as a result.”

The bout appeared to be a mismatch, with Gueu towering over Oulagnon, although the smaller man seemed to land the cleanest blow before ending up on the seat of his pants.

Caledonian appeared to be distracted by the dust-up just before kick-off in the South of Scotland league cup game.

They went down 4-0 to Threave.
