Man Utd's Jesse Lingard has designer watch 'stolen from West Ham dressing room'

Footballer Jesse Lingard had a designer watch stolen while he was playing, it was reported last night.

The watch was reportedly was taken from West Ham ’s changing room during the 1-0 defeat against Everton on May 9.

The star has a collection of high-end watches. some of which are thought to be worth six figures.

A West Ham United spokesperson said: “The incident happened a month ago and the Club took all appropriate steps at the time.

"While we will continue to assist with the matter, we are unable to comment further as this is now part of an ongoing police investigation.”

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating a burglary at the London Stadium.

“It was reported that a watch was stolen from a changing room on the afternoon or evening of Sunday, 9 May.

“There has been no arrest and enquiries continue.”

Lingard is on loan at West Ham from Manchester United where he has seen a return to form.

The 28-year-old had been enjoying life in London following a return to form after being ostracised by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.

Nine goals in 16 Premier League appearances have earned him a recall to the England set-up under Gareth Southgate.

The midfielder is also part of the 33-man provisional squad with the Three Lions ahead of the European Championships this summer.

His future remains up in the air, though, with West Ham desperate to keep hold of his services.

However, with United expected to demand a hefty fee, the chances of the Hammers signing Lingard on a permanent deal looks slim.
