In 2021, Georgia fielded one of the most dominant defenses in the history of college football. The Bulldogs held opponents to an astounding 10.2 points per game, pitching three shutouts on their way to their first national championship since 1980.
Aside from Georgia fans and SEC rivals, the ’21 Bulldogs appear to have made an impression on another team: the Eagles.
Philadelphia drafted Georgia defensive back Kelee Ringo with the 105th pick on Saturday afternoon, marking the fifth time Philadelphia has picked a member of the ’21 Bulldogs’ defense in the past two drafts.
Ringo joins defensive lineman Jordan Davis (No. 13 in 2022), linebacker Nakobe Dean (No. 83 in ’22), defensive lineman Jalen Carter (No. 9 in ’23), and linebacker Nolan Smith (No. 30 in '23).

The Eagles had fun with the pick on social media, surmising that they “need to make a class trip to Georgia.”

Shortly after the pick was made, The Athletic writer Zach Berman offered an anecdote instructive about Philadelphia general manager Howie Roseman's love of drafting Georgia players.
