Football world pays its respects to Bobby Bowden, who died Sunday at age 91

Bobby Bowden, the legendary college football coach who who two national championships during his 34 years at Florida State, died Sunday morning at the age of 91.

Bowden’s death comes just a few weeks after his son, Terry Bowden, announced that his father had been diagnosed with a terminal medical condition that Terry later said was pancreatic cancer.

Bobby Bowden took over the FSU program back in 1976 and built the program into a national powerhouse.

The final win of his storied career came in the 2009 Gator Bowl when Florida State beat West Virginia on New Year’s Day.
