Football Weekly: Cup joy for Everton and Chelsea

Barry Glendenning, Barney Ronay and Kevin McCarra join James in the studio for the final word on the weekend's football action.

The pod are full of praise for Everton and their efforts to break up the total dominance of the big four this season. The Toffeemen reaching their first cup final since 1995, but how influential were David Moyes' pre-match comments about Mike Riley? And what an earth was Dimitar Berbatov playing at with that penalty? The heavy Wembley pitch did not help Arsenal's passing game against Chelsea but Lukasz Fabianski's efforts didn't do much for them either. The pod discuss Wenger's team selection as well as horticultural matters.

There's also a Football League round-up with news of the winners and losers over the weekend, as the pod take their hats off to Wolves and assess their chances of staying up next year.

Paolo Bandini pops in with the Italian update and Sid Lowe is on the phone with news of Rayo Vallecano – who could be the most Guardian friendly team of all time.
