Football team plays brilliant prank on manager too nervous to watch shootout

Salford-based football team Irlam Tigers went viral this weekend with video of them pranking their manager who refused to watch their penalty shoot out.

Some people bite their nails or cover their eyes during a penalty shoot out, but this manager decided to hide all the way in the changing rooms to avoid the unbearable tension.

The brilliant video shows the players breaking the news to their manager that they'd lost the shootout to Unsworth FC in the quarter-finals of the Manchester Amatuer Cup.

The manager is heard consoling his players by saying "It is what it is.

"We made a mistake at the end. Just keep your heads up."

Totally committed to the gag, more players can be heard apologising as the manager continues to console them, not realising that they had actually won 4-2 on penalties.

However, the players are unable to contain their excitement any longer, and they burst out with a loud cheer as the changing room becomes a jubilant one.

The post has been watched over 390k and over 1,000 retweets.
