Tuesday: Fiorentina's Juan Manuel Vargas controls the ball
That attack came to nothing and it was Fiorentina's Juan Manuel Vargas who opened the scoring in the 27th minute to give Fiorentina the lead on aggregate. Butt in the Bayern goal, could only parry a long-range Marchionni effort and the ball fell to the right hand side of the six-yard box where Vargas was following up

Just one minute later Arjen Robben swings the tie back in Bayern's favour when he finds himself with the ball 35 yards out and Fiorentina's defenders standing off him, so he cuts inside and rifles a shot past Frey into the top left-hand corner

There was a two-goal hero in this game too, but this time he was on the visiting side rather than the home side. Cameron Jerome notched in the 16th and 42nd minutes which, despite a consolation goal by Kanu in the last minute, were enough to give Birmingham the three points. The win puts McLeish's side into eighth position, two points behind local rivals Aston Villa, and keeps Pompey rooted to the foot of the table

Either these Burnley fans live in Sunderland or they drove 85 miles to make a point as the Black Cats played host to Owen Coyle's Bolton. Just one minute into the match they would have been just as happy as the Sunderland fans when Fraizer Campbell opened the scoring for the home side

Darren Bent slams home his first and Sunderland's second goal to make it 2-0 in the 64th minute. He added a second 10 minutes later when following a shove by Sam Ricketts, which earned the Bolton defender a second yellow and then a red, he got up and slotted home the resulting spot-kick. With two minutes remaining, he scored his 19th goal of the season and completed his hat-trick when he shot through a crowded area after playing a lovely one-two with fellow goalscorer Campbell
