Football Manager predicts season outcome if Man Utd sign Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish

Football Manager has predicted how the 2020/21 season will pan out if Man Utd sign transfer targets Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish.

Both players are high on United's wish list this summer and have been linked with big-money moves to Old Trafford.

United are hoping to add the Borussia Dortmund and Aston Villa stars to their ranks in a bid to build on this season's third-place finish.

Now their fate for next season has been forecast by Manchester Evening News via the popular video game simulator, which gathers its data from a wider scouting network than any club across Europe and calculated using high-tech algorithms.

Here's how they got on.

Signing on

First of all, the guys at MEN had to complete the signings of both players, which they were able to do for free using the editor tool - which is a lot cheaper than United can expect to pay.

Sancho is valued at around £100million by Dortmund, while Villa have slapped an £80million price tag on their captain Grealish.

Player performance

Both Sancho and Grealish have racked up some impressive stats between them in action this season.

Dortmund's 21-year-old winger notched 20 goals in 44 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit over the course of the 2019/20 campaign, as well as providing 18 assists.

While Football Manager suggests he won't achieve quite the same numbers at United, he is still set for a fruitful season in front of goal.

Their data has Sancho scoring 13 times throughout the season in 51 matches, and setting up 10 goals for his teammates.

Grealish is tipped to record similar stats, with 11 goals and 17 assists - an improvement on his 10 goals and six assists for Villa this term.

Sancho just gets the edge over the 24-year-old midfielder though, with an average rating of 7.22 per match, though both ranked behind Bruno Fernandes for chances created and goals scored.

Man Utd performance

The bigger question for United is whether both players can help improve the club's fortunes on the field - and according to Football Manager, they can.

They predict United will close the gap on rivals Liverpool and provide a stern challenge for the Premier League title.

Sadly for the Red Devils, Jurgen Klopp's side are backed to retain their champions status and draw level with United on 20 league wins, but there is some consolation.

United finish as runners-up on the simulator, ahead of neighbours Man City for what would be the first time in eight years.

They also end the campaign with some silverware, lifting the Carabao Cup.
