Football Manager 26 Reveals New Recruitment Hub

The full release for Football Manager 26 is closing in on us as we approach November, and Sports Interactive is teasing us with new details. Today, they gave us a closer look at the new Recruitment Hub through a blog post. The developers are once again teaming up with TransferRoom, a real-world football transfer platform, for this revamp.

Things are looking clean with the new UI, which Sports Interactive says focuses on “clarity without compromise.” Instead of juggling multiple menus for scouting, transfer lists, and player contracts, everything now lives in one streamlined space that’s easy to navigate. The Recruitment Objectives immediately give you an idea of what the board and fans are expecting from transfers, and its quick connection to the Squad Planner gives you an insight into areas of improvement.

Contracts can be difficult to stay on top of, but the new Contracts tile does a good job of immediately highlighting players that are close to expiration. The biggest change, however, comes courtesy of two tools powered by TransferRoom: Requirements and Pitch Opportunities.

Requirements let you publicly advertise exactly what type of player you’re looking for, from position and tactical role to age and playing time. Clubs will then respond with candidates that match your criteria, and your Director of Football will shortlist the most relevant options. Pitch Opportunities are the opposite; they show you what other clubs need so you can offer up players who fit those requirements. Sports Interactive claims this should work well for offloading backups or arranging loan deals for younger players.

The developers also claim that scouting is smarter, with reports including how well a player works both in and out of possession. AI clubs will also behave more realistically, taking FFP into account and using clauses like buybacks and future fees more intelligently. The full post has a lot more talk about AI, and we’ll have to see how well these new additions play out. If you want more detail from the horse’s mouth, check the full blog post here
