Championship

• Derby moved up to second after Tom Ince’s goal earned a 1-0 win at Ipswich. Paul Clement’s team overtake Brighton, who lost their unbeaten record in the lunchtime game, losing 3-0 to leaders Middlesbrough. Hull lost ground after a shock loss to Rotherham, Lee Frecklington’s penalty and Joe Newell’s second-half strike sealing a 2-0 win.

Burnley found their range after three scoreless games, Scott Arfield scoring twice as they thrashed Charlton 4-0. Brentford’s forwards were also on form as they beat Huddersfield 4-2 to climb to ninth. Dean Smith’s side sit just behind Birmingham and Cardiff, who met at St Andrew’s on Friday, with the hosts winning 1-0.

• Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s slow start as Queens Park Rangers manager continued with a 1-1 draw at Bristol City. Aaron Wilbraham equalised after Junior Hoilett’s opener to move the Robins above MK Dons, who lost 2-1 at Nottingham Forest. Bolton, without a win in 16 games, and Fulham, winless in eight, played out an unsatisfactory 2-2 draw at the Macron Stadium.

League One

Burton drew 3-3 with Doncaster in a dramatic game where the leaders trailed twice, and led once, before Mark Duffy’s late goal earned a point. Dominic Samuel scored twice as Gillingham won 3-0 at 10-man Millwall to go second, with Coventry held at home by Oldham, and Walsall in action tomorrow.

Wigan earned a first win in four games with a 2-0 win at Barnsley, while Peterborough lost by the same scoreline at resurgent Blackpool. Southend, who beat Bury 4-1 on Friday, Bradford, who won 1-0 at Chesterfield, and Sheffield United, who won at Scunthorpe thanks to Billy Sharp’s goal, all closed in on Posh in the play-off race.

Crewe moved off the bottom with a 1-1 draw against Fleetwood; Colchester replaced them after losing 3-1 at Rochdale, despite taking the lead. Shrewsbury remain in trouble after a home defeat to Swindon; Nick Ajose got the game’s only goal.

League Two

• Just three points separate the top four, with Plymouth top of the pile after Kelvin Mellor’s late winner at Hartlepool; a tonic for away fans that made the 800-mile round trip. Former leaders Northampton lost 2-1 to Portsmouth, Conor Chaplin getting a late winner for the fourth-placed visitors, and third-placed Oxford went down 2-1 at Wycombe.

• Over 3,000 home fans travelled to Preston to watch Carlisle beat Notts County 3-0 at Deepdale, with Jabo Ibehre scoring twice. Bristol Rovers climbed into the playoff spots after beating Dagenham & Redbridge by the same score. Yeovil’s draw at Leyton Orient and York’s win over Morecambe mean the Daggers are now bottom of the pile.

• Paul Benson scored a 99th-minute winner for managerless Luton as they won 3-2 at Exeter. Barnet let a two-goal lead slip at home to Crawley, but rallied to win 4-2. Newport couldn’t do the same, drawing 2-2 with Wimbledon after leading 2-0, while Stevenage v Accrington and Cambridge v Mansfield both finished 1-1.
